“Maranatha, Come”

Several Advent hymns use the word “Maranatha” such as “Maranatha, Lord
Messiah” by Kathy Powell and “Maranatha, Come” by Francis Patrick O’Brien.” The
word “Maranatha” is derived from two Aramaic words for “Lord” and “come,” thus we
sing “Come, Lord Jesus.” Once you hear the refrains of these two hymns, they
will stick in your heart and humming for a long time. That’s OK. Sing it all
the way to Christmas.
