Easter isn’t over yet. It’s hardly begun—even if you’ve already devoured the chocolate bunny from your Easter basket. Every day this week is just like Easter. And each day is a solemnity with all the festivity of Easter Day. For the rest of the week, we sing the Gloria at Mass, and the dismissal adds the double Alleluia after “Thanks be to God.” The Easter candle will burn for the next 50 days, a flicker of the Morning Star who never sets, Christ who sheds his peaceful light on humanity. The Gospel stories reveal surprise after surprise, as Mary Magdalen, John, Peter, and Cleopas exclaim “It is the Lord.” Christ is risen indeed! Let’s celebrate! Maybe I’ll buy a few more chocolate rabbits. They’re probably half price already.

Isn’t it wonderful that the great event of the Resurrection is more than a day? Thank you for the reflective reminder, Sister Valerie.🙏🏾
It’s great that Easter is longer than Lent. Bishop Barron says we should be running. If not, then there should at least be a little more spring in our step.
On the way home from the Easter vigil, the “Easter Bunny” ran across the street in front of me!
Maybe it was his/her own version of an Emmaus trip?!
